Certified Organic Apples
Ever Fresh formulates, processes and packages organic fruit and fruit products for many food applications. Ever Fresh Fruit Company is one of the only apple processors in the region who is certified organic and complies with the USDA National Organic Program (NOP). Ever Fresh is a member of the Organic Trade Association (OTA) which represents the organic industry.
Organic food production is based on a system of farming that maintains and replenishes soil fertility without the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers. Organic foods are minimally processed without artificial ingredients, preservatives or irradiation.
Organic apple farming in the Pacific Northwest has grown dramatically in size and scope in recent years. The Pacific Northwest is the leading producer of organic apples in the US. With increasing concerns about food and the environment, there is a growing demand for organic products. The Pacific Northwest is one of the premier apple-growing areas in the world. The nutrient-rich soil, arid climate, plentiful water and growing practices provide the right conditions for producing top-quality fruit. The Pacific Northwest’s quality standards for all apples are more stringent than grading standards used in any other growing regions.
The land on which the apples are grown must have been farmed organically for three years (or more) before certification is granted. This means that for at least three years prior to the first certified organic harvest, only practices and materials allowed under the national organic standard have been used.
For organic certified apples, Ever Fresh uses only apples from certified organic growers and processes these apples and follows only NOP approved methods. We follow strict GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), Lot Traceability and other quality procedures to produce quality apple products that meet our high standards for purity and freshness.
